Mobile searchSome rumors just don’t die easily. Lately, The New York Times added some fuel to the fire, with its mobile search-focused article titled “Big Money in Little Screens“, suggesting Google DOES work on its mobile phone.

Apparently, “Google has gone so far as to build a prototype phone with its own software inside, according to one person who has seen it”. Furthermore, the article goes on to say that, “Despite the prototype and the persistent rumors that a Google phone is imminent, few in the industry expect the company to go into the business of selling phones. Analysts are speculating that the company plans to persuade hardware manufacturers to build phones based on its software that may initially be aimed at overseas markets.”

Now wait a minute. We’ve already seen some patents suggesting that Google wants to enable search without a browser. Hack, we’ve even seen some concepts, as well as the rumor that HTC will manufacture the upcoming GPhone. However, we’ve also seen Google phone rumor killed, leaving us wondering does or doesn’t Google prepares its phone. What do you say?
